About the Role:

Chase Services Group is seeking experienced, licensed, and proactive Security Officers to join our team in a dual-role position that includes CCTV monitoring, security patrols, and bed watch duties. You will play a key role in protecting patients, staff, visitors, and property while supporting clinical teams in managing patients with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Control Room & CCTV Monitoring:

  • Monitor CCTV systems 24/7 to detect incidents, suspicious behaviour, and health and safety risks.
  • Log and report all activity in line with Trust protocols and GDPR.
  • Provide live surveillance and support during emergency and major incidents.
  • Dispatch officers to site locations via radio and telephone communications.
  • Download footage for investigations and liaise with Trust Security Managers.

Security Officer Duties:

  • Carry out regular internal and external patrols of hospital premises, including car parks and community buildings.
  • Respond to panic alarms, fire alarms, incidents of violence, and requests for emergency support.
  • Escort patients, staff, and visitors safely across the site.
  • Assist in enforcing Trust policies, including smoking bans and unauthorised access control.
  • Liaise with clinical teams, police, and emergency services as needed.

Bed Watch Support:

  • Provide 1-to-1 or 2-to-1 observation of vulnerable patients (e.g. those with mental health conditions, dementia, or at risk of absconding or self-harm).
  • Maintain a calm, reassuring presence at the bedside while monitoring behaviour and alerting clinical staff to any concerns.
  • Support patients in distress with dignity and respect while ensuring a safe environment for all.
  • Work collaboratively with Enhanced Care Teams to provide patient-centred observation and risk mitigation.

What We’re Looking For:

We are specifically looking for experienced officers with:

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a healthcare, emergency, or high-security setting.
  • Valid SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence and SIA Door Supervisor Licence (required).
  • Strong understanding of hospital security operations, patient confidentiality, and safeguarding.
  • Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours and incidents involving physical restraint (training provided).
  • Clear, calm communication skills and the ability to prioritise and act under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using electronic logging systems, radio communication, and CCTV software.
  • Flexible availability to work across shift patterns, including overnight and weekends.
  • Compassion, patience, and professionalism when working with vulnerable or distressed individuals.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • First Aid / CPR certification
  • PMVA (Prevention & Management of Violence and Aggression) or equivalent training
  • Experience in mental health observation or bed watch
  • Familiarity with Guardtek, Deister, or similar patrol systems
