Security Officer

Description

Recruiting in Newcastle area SIA licenced staff for private security work ranging from asset protection at sites to bars, festivals, weddings, birthdays, properties and more. 

Roles are self-employed so you will require to hold UTR number for HMRC.

Shifts are adhoc and various times but may lead to increased hours. £12 day shifts between 7am and 7pm and £12.50 between 7pm and 7am.

Job Purpose

The primary role of security is to ensure the safety and security of the venue's clients, property and employees. 

Job Overview

 As security, you will ensure the safety of staff and customers, as well as protect assets within the clients' business and provide excellent customer service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• You will be stationed at the building's entrance, screening visitors for suitability. 
• Ensure the visitor is not under the age of 18 or in possession of any dangerous substances or things, such as drugs or weapons
• Controlling entry and exit route
• Customer management to maintain a safe environment within the venue
• Crowd control
• Supervising customer arrivals
• Carrying out ID checks
• Screening and searching for individuals
• Checking properties are secure
• Ensuring no damage to properties
• Site security
• Site checks
• Incident response

Requirements 

• A valid SIA licence - Security, Door Supervisor Licence or close protection
• Have excellent communication skills and be customer service focused
• Be able to work as part of a team
• Be reliable and confident
• Ability to tackle emergency situations 
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
• Be observant
