Job role
Professional security are seeking a Store Detective to operate across our clients network of high-end retail stores, utilising your observation skills to help prevent and reduce stock loss. The work of the Detective team is crucial in the identification, apprehension and prosecution of criminals who target our client.
Location
Across London, to include Kensington, Piccadilly, Clapham, Camden and Stoke Newington.
Pay rate
£14.30
Typical hours
40+hrs, various day shifts to include weekend working
Duties
- Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with Theft Act.
- Follow ASCONE process.
- Work with uniformed security officers to Identify and stop offenders.
- Liaison with the police and other crime prevention partners, in the areas you will be operating, gain knowledge and react to crime trends in the area.
- Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.
- Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Fully competent in writing a Police statement MG11 form.
- Attend court to provide evidence.
Essential
- It is essential that you are SIA licenced
Preferred
- Store detective experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in a customer facing with a strong customer service background.
Key skills required
- As no two days at our client's regional stores are the same, you will need to be highly adaptable.
- You will remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
- Have high quality written skills to deliver actionable guidance and feedback.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE of equivalent in English
- Proactive and forward-thinking approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a desire to improve on existing working practices.
- A positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.
- Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and to make quick decisions.
- Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
- Ability to use modern surveillance systems, like CCTV and electronic tags
- Understand when to consult, involve or direct others.
- Think clearly and quickly about issues and identify critical information.
- Pay attention to detail and have good administration skills.
- Have knowledge of all Microsoft Office Packages.
