Description
Summary of Role
To effectively support the provision of a safe and secure working and shopping environment
providing a uniformed presence to protect the company assets and minimise loss.
Standard Hours
37.5 - 40 hours
Monday - Sunday (flexibility required)
Key Responsibilities
● To liaise daily with both the store management and line manager to protect staff,
customers and company assets
● Develop and maintain good relations with the local Police and assist in the
implementation of local crime reduction partnerships.
● Demonstrate initiative by using a problem solving approach to all store Loss
Prevention issues
● By liaising with Store Management, carry out initial investigations and report both
verbally and in writing on incidents of theft and suspicious activities
● To ensure an effective visual shop floor deterrent is maintained at all times, carrying
out checks on high risk areas and identifying and dealing with potential safety and
security incidents to Company Procedure, engaging with the store teams
● To report all security incidents in line with current reporting tools and procedures
including escalation to the Loss Prevention Dept, Police were appropriate
● To report any suspected online fraud to the Loss Prevention Dept with supporting
evidence
● To ensure staff searches are carried out in line with Company procedures
● To fully utilise all available security equipment and information to deter, detect and
disrupt criminal activity and to assist in monitoring and identifying theft
● To carry out training with new and existing staff members in relation to Loss
Prevention
● Engage with store management to ensure Company Loss Prevention standards
within stores are adhered to at all times
● To support TP partner businesses as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager/
Regional Loss Prevention Manager
● To action any other duties as requested by the Regional Loss Prevention Manager
including Out of Hours surveillance, Loss Prevention auditing, providing additional
support at other stores and attending dept meetings

needed to take appropriate action, without unnecessarily holding back vital
information.

minimise stock loss
● To ensure all basic administration is dealt with in line with company procedures

● To ensure regular intelligence sharing through the appropriate channels
● To ensure you adhere to all Next loss prevention procedures and policies for
apprehension and exclusion, ensuring the principles of ASCONE are applied at all
times
● Ensure all information received is held and dealt with, in line with data protection
guidelines
● Maintain confidentiality at all times
Criteria
Essential Criteria:
● Travel may be required on a day to day basis to cover a cluster of stores within a
reasonable travelling distance from home address
● Fully flexible to work 5 out of 7 days including weekends and evenings
● Previous Retail or Loss Prevention experience
● Hardworking, self motivated
● Work with high integrity
● Good time management and able to work under pressure
● Demonstrates initiative
● Customer focussed
● Demonstrates confident and effective verbal communication skills
